Be Careful Driving a Car as Heavy as a Beluga Whale

Cars are big, and fast, and heavy, and dangerous. You think we would take care when driving one -- yet texting while driving is a major epidemic, especially among younger drivers.

The winners of the Toyota TeenDrive365 Video Challenge think it's a matter of perspective. We see cars everywhere, every day, and usually nothing bad happens. We take their bulk for granted.

What if you looked at it a different way, though? What if you remembered you are driving in a vehicle that weighs the same as a 2-ton beluga whale? Some of the new Toyota vehicles for sale in…

If you've kept pace with our blog here at Cavender Toyota, you may likely recall a prior post in which we offered insight to the all-new 2016 RAV4 Hybrid.

Keeping with that theme today, we'd now like to turn our attention to another one of the Japanese automaker's great green machines, the 2016 Toyota Camry Hybrid.

A Dirty Windshield Can Be Beautiful With the Right Wipers

You just plowed through a major mud puddle, and an opaque coat of muck is spattered across your windshield. For some, this could be a problem. But you've got a brand new set of wiper blades, and you're not afraid to use them.

Did you know the average wiper blade only lasts about a year? In order to work its best, the rubber must be firm, yet pliable. Exposure to extreme heat in the summer, rain, dust, and dry air can degrade the quality of rubber, making surface contact uneven.

That's when you start seeing residue left…

Autotrader Explains What Makes the 2015 Toyota RAV4 So Remarkable

Is the Toyota RAV4 the very best compact crossover in the game right now? Well, if it isn't already top dog, it's definitely well on its way.

Don't just take it from us, though. Hear the thoughts of the industry insiders at Autotrader:

We're seriously smitten by this SUV's engine. A 2.5-liter four-cylinder does the heavy lifting here, producing an impressive 176 horsepower and 172 pound-feet of torque. We're also big fans of its fuel economy marks, which, on front-drive models, check in at a very healthy 26 mpg combined (23 city/31…

What Goes To Waste Can Instead Fuel Your Car

"Waste not, want not," that's what mom always said. Can the same be true of our cars?

One important factor in reducing our environmental impact is using products that would otherwise go to waste. Using waste products means we reduce demand for new things, and it keeps waste out of landfills, where it does nothing but take up space and poison the environment.

The Toyota Mirai, which runs on hydrogen, can use fuel from recycled products. One way of using waste to make hydrogen is by fermenting cow poop and refining the gasses released.

Is There Anything That Can Stop A Used Truck?

Toyota vehicles are supposed to be reliable, but that claim has never been tested quite as much as it was by Top Gear.

In the first segment of "Killing a Toyota," they subjected an old Toyota truck to reckless driving, salt-water baths, wrecking ball assault, and trial by fire.

When that wasn't enough to kill it, they went at it again. Will a 240 foot drop off of a demolished building be enough to finally put the nail in the coffin for this truck?

You Would Be Surprised How Old Some New Technology Is!

In 2000, the Toyota Prius took the American market by storm as one of the very first hybrid cars. In 2015, the Toyota Mirai is going to be one of the very first hydrogen fuel cell vehicles.

Except actually, the hydrogen fuel cell was invented in 1838. The hybrid? The turn of the last century.

Hybrids, fuel cells, and other sustainable technology has been around for a very long time. So why does it feel so new? Where have these technologies been all this time?
