Performance

The newest edition of the Toyota Land Cruiser comes with a turbocharged hybrid engine. It's a 2.4-liter four-cylinder with two electric motors. This combines to make around 326 horsepower, similar to what you'd find on another vehicle in our lineup, the Toyota Tacoma. There's an eight-speed automatic transmission and four-wheel drive system. You can find features like an available electronic locking rear differential for even distribution to the rear wheels for better traction control. There's also multi-terrain select with crawl control to help you get traction at different speeds when on bumpy or uphill terrain. Another feature includes a stabilizer disconnect mechanism, which helps increase on-road performance around San Antonio.

In terms of towing, the new Toyota Land Cruiser is able to reach 6,000 pounds of maximum hauling with the right setup behind it.

Design

Toyota Land Cruiser Exterior Design

The Land Cruiser offers a classic boxed look on its large SUV frame and some models, such as the Land Cruiser 1958 strike a balance between the modern functionality we desire, and the classic style with some retro attributes like circular designed headlights and a classic take on the front grille. Add in the modern looks to design lines, different color options, and window designs and you're able to drive around in a vehicle that inspires plenty of confidence every time you're behind the wheel.

Interior Design and Comfort

Whether you're using the vehicle for your daily commutes in the San Antonio area, or headed out to enjoy all we have to offer off-trail in Texas, the Toyota Land Cruiser is a solid option and delivers on comfort. There's seating for five, with eight-way power-adjustable leather-trimmed front seats. The rear seats can be folded down to give you plenty of space to load up with different supplies and even lay down the sleeping bags and camping mattress as it can fit the right sized option in there so you can camp out in your Land Cruiser if you want.

Technology

You're going to find all options come with a touch display. Standard Toyota Land Cruiser SUVs offer an eight-inch display, while you can find a larger 12.3-inch display on other trims. There are USB-C charging ports and a wireless smartphone charging pad available, along with wireless Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™. Additional features include Wi-Fi connectivity plans available to connect you and your passengers, as well as a 14-speaker JBL sound system.

Safety

There are a number of standard features available on new Toyota Land Cruiser vehicles that will give you a sense of confidence as they help keep you alert and protect you on the road. Via Toyota Safety Sense 3.0, these features include lane-departure warning, automatic high-beam headlamps, adaptive cruise control, and automatic emergency braking with pedestrian detection. You'll also find a backup camera to help you navigate out of different spaces and situations too.

Trim Levels

There are expected to be three different trim levels on the new Toyota Land Cruiser. They are:

  • Toyota Land Cruiser 1958
  • Toyota Land Cruiser
  • Toyota Land Cruiser First Edition

Each one will offer something different. The Land Cruiser 1958 is for those who don't intend to go off-road much but still have the right suspension and capability if needed. It's an option that would certainly appeal to those around San Antonio. The Land Cruiser and First Edition vehicles offer some more aggressive off-road features and added standard amenities, making them a premium choice for a large off-road SUV to enjoy in our area.

The New Toyota Land Cruiser: Honoring a Legendary History Through Design in San Antonio, TX

At Cavender Toyota, we are excited to bring you the New Toyota Land Cruiser, a versatile SUV we think New Braunfels drivers will love. The new Toyota Land Cruiser might be new to the current Toyota lineup. However, the new Land Cruiser has a long legacy that comes before it, starting in 1951 and continuing through 2021, when the original Land Cruiser was discontinued. Here is what you need to know about the Land Cruiser design, and how it honors the legacy of the models that came before.

Classic Round Headlights

One of the first aspects of the new Land Cruiser you might notice is its round headlights. If these lamps seem vintage-inspired, that's because they are. The round headlights are a direct callback to the Land Cruiser design of the 1950s.

Iconic Two-Tone Paint

Another callback to the 1950s Land Cruiser design that serious Toyota-heads might notice includes the new model's two-tone paint, with Trail Dust and Heritage Blue colors. This two-tone design is an homage to the similar paint design of the classic Land Cruiser.

Elements of Every Icon

When passersby see your new Land Cruiser in Boerne, they might notice elements of multiple generations of Land Cruisers from the past. The boxy shape recalls the legendary Land Cruiser J40. The separator trim on the A-pillar is reminiscent of the Land Cruiser J50. The large, rectangular grille features the Toyota name front and center, as multiple past Land Cruiser models did. The imposing side profile might remind you of the Land Cruiser J60 models of the 1970s and 80s.
