New Toyota bZ4X For Sale in San Antonio

The New 2023 Toyota bZ4X EV

The new 2023 Toyota bZ4X is expected to arrive in mid-2022 with a crossover SUV configuration. Toyota has prudently avoided rushing into EV production, avoiding the sometimes disastrous results of overly-eager competitors - like GM's fire-prone Chevy Bolt or Tesla's unreliable lineup. The bZ4X is a well-designed crossover that will reflect Toyota's patient, carefully-honed approach to EV development.

It's a good illustration of how Toyota avoids prematurely launching prototypes into the real world just to gain a marketing advantage. Toyota has always regarded the safety of its customers as its highest priority, while achieving some of the industry's highest rankings for reliability. So while other electrics have accounted for only 2% of the U.S. auto market for years, Toyota has become America's widely-respected, best-selling carmaker.

The standard electric powertrain in the new bZ4X will generate 201 horsepower with 230 lb-ft of torque in a front-wheel drive format. The all-wheel drive version of the bZ4X is expected to create 215 horsepower using two motors. By putting the power source over the front axle, the bZ4X will provide more effective traction in its standard front-wheel drive model.

The 2023 Toyota bZ4X is expected to have an all-electric driving range of around 250 miles. It's also expected to offer a fast-charging capability that goes from no charge to about 80% in roughly an hour with a DC fast charger. Toyota underscores the fact that its battery has been engineered to keep about 90% of its capacity even after being in use for 10 years. It's another example of the benefits of Toyota's patient, high-quality approach.

True to the Toyota tradition, the bZ4X is handsomely-designed in a way that exudes a serene, confident outlook. As a stylish four-door crossover, the bZ4X will be both maneuverable and durable. It will create an under-stated elegance that should be welcomed by Toyota fans in nearby communities like New Braunfels and Boerne, TX.

While many details of the new 2023 Toyota bZ4X are yet to be revealed, industry intelligence indicates that the interior of this new electric will be more contemporary than some current Toyota models. It's expected to feature a nice-sized touch screen to control infotainment along with a digital gauge display. There is also expected to be an expansive console that's centered between the two front seats. Cabin size should be similar to the RAV4's.

With the 2023 bZ4X, Toyota will unveil its new Safety Sense 3.0 collection of sensors, a system that takes the detection of trouble spots to a higher plane. The result will be safer, more accurate detection of cyclists in lower light conditions, while also more effectively detecting motorcyclists during the daytime. In addition, lane recognition will be enhanced to provide improved performance in helping the driver stay in his lane.

Reliability: A Toyota strength that's been an electric weakness

Consumer Reports issues highly-regarded reliability scores each year and, as expected, Toyota has once again been ranked near the top. In fact, the Toyota brand was #3 and Lexus which, of course, is made by Toyota, was ranked #1. Electric vehicles didn't do so well. In fact, Tesla is the second most unreliable brand with the Tesla Model X ranked as the least reliable of all vehicles tested. As a category, electric SUVs were the least reliable.

The bottom line: While other car makers have been putting their "experiments" into the hands of consumers, Toyota has been quietly testing and refining their electric prototypes: They haven't been releasing them. So if you're looking for an all-electric vehicle that's less likely to leave you stranded and cost you a lot in repairs, the new 2023 Toyota bZ4X at Cavender Toyota is worth waiting for.
