Earlier this month, Toyota, VH1 Save The Music Foundation and the Life is Beautiful Music & Art Festival teamed to present a music education grant valued at $40,000 to three Las Vegas area schools. The grant provides an influx of needed musical instruments to the schools' music programs, helping to expand student participation in the programs.
The presentation at Ed W. Clark High School climaxed with a surprise performance by the Grammy award-winning rock band Imagine Dragons, who performed several of their songs for the assembled students and teachers.
The total donation was split into two Encore Grants that endow $15,000 worth of wind and string instruments plus one Keys + Kids Grant worth $10,000 that provides hybrid pianos and keyboards. The three schools were awarded grants -- Ed W. Clark High School, Dell H. Robinson Middle School and Cashman Middle School -- are now able to increase their resources to offer even more students the chance to learn through the arts.
